I have believed for a number of years that the traditional accounting service model of recording history rather than creating it with clients has had to change as clients are wanting more value and input from their professional advisors. They no longer want a reactive accountant and are demanding a proactive advisor who is there to experience the journey with them.

When we decided to launch HTA Advisory in 2008 our focus was to provide our clients with value and the service standards that they expect. From this we have developed new systems and processes through the utilisation of technology and our extensive experience to develop a new service standard for our clients.

I have been a professional advisor since 1999 and have developed considerable skills in working closely with SME business owners and individual clients to help then achieve their business and personal outcomes.

I understand the critical role that accountants perform and the trust that is placed in us everyday by our clients. The development of longstanding personal relationships with clients is an added bonus for me.

I too realize that you work to live and not live to work and as such take great pleasure in enjoying life’s little luxuries including watching my beloved Saints whenever I can and getting on the golf course, although both now take a back seat to spending time with my wonderful family, my wife Deanne and two beautiful daughters Isabelle and Madeline.

As a founding partner of HTA I enjoy working closely with our clients, sharing their challenges and successes. I strive to assist business owners in achieving the ultimate goal of working on their business rather than in their business, taking a holistic approach each step of the way.

I have worked the past 12 years as a professional advisor having spent considerable time developing business acumen both in Australia and the United Kingdom, which has enabled me to assist our clients with the financial management and strategic growth of their business.

I am particularly passionate about advising clients within the property, construction and services industries, and am able to apply my strong knowledge of SME compliance & business management issues to each client.

I am currently finishing the Acumen Innovation, Leadership & Entrepreneurship program which is developing my ability to think strategically and in a competitively sustainable way, so that I can advise SME’s of ways to gain an advantage over larger competitors who are not spending the time innovating and strategically planning.

When I’m not working I enjoy all forms of sport, especially following the Mighty Magpies, exercising with my two dogs on the weekend and trying to get my handicap down at Heidelberg GC.
